Bubbly Pool, Jost Van Dyke

Located northeast of Jost Van Dyke is a small and quaint cove known locally as the Bubbly Pool. It’s orientation to the north and west completely exposes it to huge breaking waves. Fortunately, for the benefit of the tourists, a line of large rocks block the entrance of the mammoth swells to the inner cove. The waves steepen as they roll inside the cove’s narrowing passage and breaks over the line of tall rocks. The full power of the wave forms into a bubbling white water that comes rushing in to fill the pool with swirling jets of foamy sea water–a natural Jacuzzi, so to speak.
